Saving money can become addictive and once you know the places to go and the rules to play by, you can soon come up with a bargain. It can be thrift stores or lawn sales, charity stores or the seasonal sales but wherever you choose to shop you don’t have to cut down on quality in order not to overspend.

Wheedling out Washington Collectibles

Antiques are always in demand and big cities seem to be the best placed to go to get them. Storage is expensive and often it is easy to downsize and give things away or sell them cheaply rather than store them for future generation. At Sloans and Kenyon Auctioneers, there will be many collectibles and the staff are open to giving advice and making sure that you know what you are bidding on. The St Albans Opportunity Shop is based in a church and not only will you benefit from the low prices, but the proceeds of the sales go to charities so a lot of others are benefitting as well. Flea markets and the Georgetown Flea Market in particular offers clothes and collectibles although it is only open on Sunday. Eastern Market sells handmade crafts, antiques, jewelery and leather items and has been described as the best place to go for “preppy and funky”

Snapping Up Bargains in Sacramento

It is not just on Black Friday that the prices are low in Sacramento. Many companies have a deal with Groupon where they will offer goods and services for a low price, but if you would rather attend an event the annual yard sale run by the  Boulevard Park Neighborhood Association’s will throw up bargains of every kind and profits are put back into the area.

If you are organized you can get a good deal on patio furniture from Emigh’s Casual Living as they hold their sale before the summer starts. Target will be the place to go for clothes as long as you want something trendy and don’t expect it to last too long while if last years’ fashion is fine then search out a great item at Nordstrom Rack.

Bag a Bargain in Boston

If you want bargain clothes and have hours to spare then visit Filenes Basement. Prices are drastically reduced and there is normally a further deduction from the tag price. H & M have low prices throughout the year and as a result queues are large and the same applies to TJ Maxx.

If you want antiques and collectibles then Charles Street is the place to go. Search out the basement stores and you will find a mixture of genuinely well priced antiques and a fine range of collectible memorabilia.

Nice and nautical in Norfolk

The Waterside Festival Market will let you find many bargains including clothes, books and household items. As there is a great nautical history attached to Norfolk, Salty Dog will provide any marine supplies needed and there are both new and used items, with everything is priced to go. Nautical items are popular and WT Brownley Co will have a selection of nautical, instruments books and charts.  Pottery Barn has everything that you could need for the home and with a sale that covers items in most categories you are sure to find something you want.

A round-Up

Every area will have its own special place where you can get a bargain and often the best thing to do is walk around and see what you can find. A lot of shops will not allow you to haggle but if you get the right person you may get a few $s taken of the bill.
